Nesopupa turtoni (ex Pupa turtoni)

A very small endemic snail that occurs on St Helena. It was thought to be extinct until it was found alive, in 2003, in a remote part of Prosperous Bay Plain. It is similar to a species of Nesopupa from Fernando Noronha island, off Brazil. It is 3 mm long and 1 mm wide, with a squarish aperture in which there are six conspicuous teeth.
